An existing railway, part of a truncated through route, with some freight access required. Sounds very similar to another railway I am involved with in the north of the county.
The track looks in a lot better condition to that up that other dale, and the whole infrastructure looks in better nick.

All the best in your venture, and maybe in the future a Deepcar to Redmire excursion?

Thanks Andy.

Our project is quite similar to others throughout the country.

Hello I am new to this forum and for a number of years I have been following the project online by visiting the site regularly.

I used to live in Sheffield then I moved back South for a while and now I live in Rotherham.

Whats is actualy required as we speek to start running some kind of service on part of the line either using steam or diesel.

I believe the track and infrastructure is in a reasonable condition as it was used a few times a week for a freight train from stocksbridge, not sure if this still happens now though.

What work is required on some of the stations to perhaps allow services to call there.

I would love to get involved with the project, I have worked on the railway at Gatwick Airport of all places, have been licensed and competent in train despatch, also have a good knowledge of other rules and regs.

Anyway please get back in touch, wishing us well for the project ahead.

Regards

73206.
