No Profits!
We have found that the key to success in this project is patience. We have to go through the process of persuading others as to the validity and credibility of the scheme and the debate has to wind its way through the corridors of power until we succeed in changing outlooks. Above all, our driving ambition is to make this a community project - run by the community, for the community. To that end, we are a “not for profit” limited company and a registered charity.

No Shares
There are no shareholders or stakeholders and no monies flowing out of the project. It is fair to say since inception NO member of DVR Ltd. has accepted ANY repayments of their personal costs in pursuit of the aims of the project. This is how it will stay!

Employees?
The operation of the railway will have to have some full time paid staff but most of the labour will be provided by volunteers, just like the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The railway and its infrastructure will be owned by the community it serves.
